Lisa Gilchrist Peterson started Gilchrist Art Camp in 2007 with the goal of giving children the materials and atmosphere to develop their creativity in a professional and fun environment.

Lisa has a background in both art and child development. Her goal is to bring those two passions together and work with children to develop their artistic abilities, helping all kids see their creative potential and the importance of expressing it.

Art Camp is full of energy, creativity, and passion to help further one’s love for expressing art and making friends along the way.

Our camps are thoughtfully designed to build, create, and reconstruct art through the use of found, recycled, and used material, utilizing professional-grade paints and fine art products. This approach helps develop an understanding of balance between using resources at hand while also investing in quality craftsmanship. Each week is filled with as many projects as possible while still enjoying and appreciating the process. GAC is a happy (and messy!) place for creativity to exist.

Counselors at GAC are hand-picked for their creative abilities, wonderful teaching skills, child care experience, and their love for kids and all things messy.

“We stumbled across this camp last summer and our daughter has been a regular ever since. This is absolutely her favorite camp EVER - and this kid has been to a lot of camps in the last 10 years! Lisa keeps it fun and they are always doing new and interesting projects. She is also great about adding extra camps on no school days which is really helpful as a working parent.”
